The short version
We collect what we need to send and redeem drinks, and nothing more. We do not sell your data, and we do not send you marketing text messages — when you gift a drink, the message goes through your own messaging app, not ours.
This Privacy Policy explains how DRINKS ARE ON ME LLC, a Florida limited liability company doing business as drinks-on-me ("we," "us," or "our"), collects, uses, and shares information when you use our mobile app, our website at drinks-on-me.com, and related services (the "Service"). By using the Service, you agree to this policy.
Information We Collect
- Phone number — your account identity and the way drinks are matched and delivered to you.
- Name — provided when you set up your account, and shown to people you gift drinks to.
- Date of birth — used to verify you meet our 21+ age requirement.
- Country and gender — country is used to format your phone number correctly; gender is optional.
- Payment information — processed by our payment processor, Stripe. We do not store full card numbers on our servers.
- Order and activity data — drinks gifted and received, venue, timestamps, tips, redemptions, and the reviews and ratings you submit.
- Device and usage data — device type, app interactions, push-notification tokens, and approximate location when you grant permission (used to show nearby venues and distances).
Your Contacts
When you choose to gift or regift a drink, the app can open your device's contact list so you can pick a recipient. This happens only with your permission and only when you tap to choose a contact. We do not upload, copy, or store your contact list. Only the phone number of the specific person you select is used — and only to deliver that drink to them in the app once they sign up.
How We Use Your Information
- To deliver gifts and regifts to you and to process redemptions at participating venues.
- To verify you are 21 or older.
- To process payments through Stripe and pay venues for redeemed drinks.
- To send you in-app and push notifications about drinks waiting for you and redemptions.
- To prevent fraud and abuse, and to operate, analyze, and improve the Service.
- To comply with our legal obligations.
How We Share Your Information
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information, and we do not share it with anyone for their own marketing. We share information only in these ways:
- Participating venues — when you redeem a drink, the venue receives the redemption details needed to serve it (the drink, the code, and redemption status).
- Brand partners — brands that sponsor activations and free drinks receive performance data for their activations: redemption counts, the reviews and ratings submitted for their drinks, and aggregate consumption and demand insights. This is how sponsored free drinks are funded and measured.
- Service providers — Stripe (payments), our push-notification and hosting providers, and email providers used to send operational reports to venues. These providers may only use the data to perform services for us.
- Legal — when required by law, subpoena, or to protect our rights and the safety of others.

Notifications
We send notifications through the app and your device's push system — for example, when a drink is waiting for you. We do not send marketing text messages. You can turn push notifications off at any time in your device settings.
Data Security
We use commercially reasonable safeguards, including encryption in transit (TLS) and access controls. No method of electronic transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Your Choices and Rights
- Access the personal information we hold about you.
- Request correction of inaccurate information.
- Request deletion of your account and data, subject to legal retention requirements.
- Turn off push notifications and revoke contacts or location permission at any time in your device settings.

Age Restriction
The Service is intended only for users 21 years of age or older. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 21. If we learn that we have, we will delete it.
Data Retention
We keep personal information for as long as needed to provide the Service and to meet legal, tax, and accounting obligations. Transactional records may be retained for several years as required by law.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the updated version here and, for material changes, provide notice within the app.
